When the body of a MI6 agent is found floating in Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour alarm bells ring in London. The last message received from the agent mentioned an assassin was on his way to London to kill a government minister. A major Chinese telecoms company is keen to win the highly lucrative UK 5G contract but is blocked from bidding by the Minister for Telecommunications who claims should the Chinese company win the contract it would pose a threat to national security. Incensed by the minister's action, the Chinese government seeks revenge. The assassin's target could only be the Minister for Telecommunications. Mike Harding is a deniable asset attached to MI13, an obscure department within the MoD whose remit is to discretely remove threats to national security initiated by foreign actors. When Harding receives a call from the head of MI13, it can only mean one thing. His skills are required as a matter of urgency. When Harding learns the Minister for Telecommunications has a financial interest in a Russian backed telecoms company, things get very complicated indeed.
