Although strongly Christian in his beliefs, the Italian statesman Giorgio La Pira never belonged to the clergy, nor to associations such as the Catholic Action - an organization strongly recommended by Popes, bishops, and simple priests. The essays collected in this book show the reason for this choice, analyzing the writings of La Pira and recounting its social action.
