Become like children, says Jesus of Nazareth, otherwise "you will not enter the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 18:2). But what does this
like mean? From a theological perspective, it refers to the
child of God and the divine sonship of faith; from a human sciences perspective, it relates to biological and social childhood, to childhood as the age of a growing human being. What similarities and differences can be seen here? These contributions address corresponding questions, which also relate to the future of the Church, the beginnings of faith and the current treatment of children in the Church, in an interdisciplinary context.
