The Gift of Jesus unit uses the Bible story included in Luke 2:1-20. Luke's Gospel tells the Christmas story through the historical event of a census which links Joseph's lineage to King David. The message of this wonderful birth is given to the lowly shepherds in the fields and, through them, to the world. Younger and older elementary children will:
- Experience the Christmas story from Luke's Gospel.
- Create and re-create the story through a variety of age-appropriate activities that will incorporate all their "intelligences."
- Discover ways they can share this good news as a gift to others.
